Studio 760 is a women-owned hair salon in the High Desert area of California. My first job in high school was as a receptionist at this salon. One afternoon in 2018, the owner, Kaley, floated the idea of me taking over the salon’s Instagram. At the time, I had some experience with Canva and photography, so we put together a plan to showcase new salon products, highlight stylists' work, and grow the page.

Regardless of how much social media has since evolved, this project was an invaluable learning experience. It gave me a playground to explore typography, balance, contrast, and design tools like Canva. I also learned how to track analytics, refine hashtag strategies, and grow a brand’s online presence.

Kaley was one of the first people in my career to recognize the value I could bring through design. This project sparked a domino effect of roles and opportunities that led me exactly where I am today. Thank you, Kaley!
